Purpose of the society
|
|
Hedmark Genealogical Society
have as purpose to promote the interest for genealogy and
biographical work. The Society shall be the link between those who
are interested in genealogical questions and as best we can
rationalize the genealogical work in the region which today include
the muncipalities Hamar, Stange, Ringsaker
and Løten. The Society shall also effect help to persons and
institutions who have interests in our area. |

Membership
|
|
Membership costs at
present NOK 250 pr. year. Membership can be obtained by directly
payment to the account 1822.05.36676, by apply to Hedmark
Genealogical Society or directly to the cashier.

Meetings
|
|
The Society have regularly
meeting days on the
second Thursday in each month with
start at 6.pm or 7.pm at the State Archive in Hamar or at
our office located on the Norwegian Emigrant Museum, Ottestad.

The Society Office
|
|
Our office is located at The
Norwegian Emigrant Museum at Åkershagan in Stange, just south of
Hamar. Opening hours:Tuesdays 14.pm to 18.pm. or make an
appointment. Here you will find your library containing bygdebooks,
newsletters, periodicals, database,
internet.
From our office we are
working with queries to the Norwegian Emigrant Museum and do all
the genealogical work for them in Norway as well as USA.

The periodical
|
|
Since 1996 the society have
published 2 periodicals a year. Here you can find articles about
genealogy, genealogical queries, genealogical articles. At present
we are printing cards from the probate court. |
